So the last time my sister-in-law Mandi came for a visit she took a long, thoughtful look at our house and said, "You don't like red." And as I've admitted
before, I don't. Actually, it's not that I don't like it. I don't know what it is exactly. I know there was a time in high school where everyone was wearing black and red (which, while we're on the subject, I also don't like black) (btw, I'm sitting here wearing a black t-shirt. Ha!) and I decided then that black and red were "fancy" colors and ever since then I've avoided them. Now, however, red has made a smashing comeback (yeah, that's right. Smashing) and everyone is using it to add a little retro pop to their decorating. Love it. So that's what I did today. Because after thinking about it for a while I've decided that red is the element that my house is missing. (Thanks Mandi.)

I just bought a cheap old can of spray paint, no primer. It worked great! And tips on making it look nice?? Make sure you like it and stretch the fabric tight. :)

how'd you get the pads off of the chair, and how'd you put them back on? is the back just metal or is it padded too?

The back was already padded so all I had to do was unscrew it, staple the fabric on, and screw it all back together. And unfortunately I've looked everywhere for simular (old) chairs, and can't find any! But you can buy new padded folding chairs for about $17 a piece.
