bibliophiles unite

My sweet friend Miss Maryposa has started a summer reading list group and is inviting all to join. And even though she is a true lover of good literature, and I am cowering in her book savvy radness, I'm joining in. And Zach has (briefly begrudgingly and later enthusiastically) agreed to come along for the fun. I'm not sure we'll be able to cross every book off our lists, but we'll sure try. And they may need to be revised at one point or another. I'm sure I'm forgetting some books and overreaching on others. Oh, and since Mary is adorable and clever, she's insisting that each groupee send a picture with their eyes peeking over a book (how cute is that?). So without further ado...

Once again, the funfilled task of having Zach take my picture.......

Katie's Summer Reading List:

1. The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy by Douglas Adams (tucked sweetly in my purse by Mary at my recent visit to her house)

4. The Host by Stephanie Meyers

5. Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver

8. When You Are Engulfed In Flames by David Sedaris

9. The Princess Bride by William Goldman

10. The Catcher In The Rye by J.D Salinger

11. The Giver by Lois Lowry (again)

Zachary's Summer Reading List:

1. Les Miserables by Victor Hugo

2. The New Kings Of Nonfiction by Ira Glass

3. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (per the request of his wife)

4. The Element by Sir Ken Robinson

5. Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer

6. Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer

7. Democracy In America by Alexis de Tocqueville

9. Seven Pillars Of Wisdom by T.E. Lawrence

10. A Confederacy Of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole

11. The Bruce R. McConkie Story by Joseph Fielding McConkie

(Plus, since he'll be teaching the Doctrine & Covenants next year, you can bet he'll be reading that and every book/biography/study guide that has to do with the Doctrine & Covenants and church history as well. What a guy.)

Wish us luck, and come join in the fun over at Mary's!

And also, here's what was going on behind the scenes of the photo shoot:
