romantical

So sometimes (when I'm feeling like a selfish crybaby) I wish Zach was more romantic.

I say it's when I'm a selfish crybaby because I know that he consciously does things every day to show me that he loves me.

I'm not exaggerating when I say he's the man.

He does the dishes more often than not, he plays with the boys from the time he walks in the door to the moment he kisses them goodnight, he tells me that the green sweat pants I wear when I'm feeling lazy make me look HOT...

Really, he's awesome.

So I guess when I say I sometimes wish he was more romantic I mean it in that boring, predictable, conventionally romantic way.

The whole, sweep me off my feet, knight in shining armor, flowers for no reason, "I bought you this pretty, dainty hairclip because it reminded me of you... although it is no comparison to your beauty, my dear...."

K, I've grossed myself out now...

Anyways, what I'm getting at is that the other day Zach did something spontaneously romantic and sweet.

He secrectly hid two little purple flowers in the pages of the book I'm reading.

Adorable, right??

That's the exact kind of thing that I go nuts over.

I'm sure he was feeling so clever.

I bet he couldn't wait for me to open the book.

But I'm sure what he wasn't expecting was that I would lay down, I would open my book, I would see two little dried objects fall onto my chest and I would yell out, "OH GROSS!!!"

Seriously.

And now I know why he's not more "romantic."

Thank you for allowing me to freak Blair out at 1:30 in the morning by laughing loudly while i was reading your blog in bed. :) hee hee

Also, have Zach give Blair a call. Blair's idea of romantic would be along the lines of "let's spend some time together. I'll play basketball on the Xbox and you can, you know, be in the room."

Also, I can't take full credit for "crap-lousy". I pretty much stole it from the movie Blades of Glory. But use it anyway. it's delightful to say.

Hey Katie...Jill's doing great! I called her and gave her your email address. She just doesn't have the internet, but I told her to promise to email you so that you know she's ok. Take care, and I'm glad you contacted me.

haha. i'm the same way. my husband is a gem and half the time i don't even notice when he does something sweet. i think even a woman married to a musician who wrote all his songs about her would wish he was more romantic.
