frugal friday

A few suggestions for frugal living.

Put sprinkles on anything and call it a treat:

Make your own dishwasher detergent and laundry detergent:

Buy brown bananas at 4lbs for $1 and make an excessive amount of banana bread and freeze it. Then dry the rest of the bananas in your dehydrator and call them "banana treats" and watch your kids devour them. Then crack open that can of pumpkin sitting in your cupboard and make 4 loaves of pumpkin bread (but use half whole wheat in place of white, and half applesauce in place of oil) and freeze that as well. Then make some yummy honey whole wheat bread to have with dinner. Then get fat because you're eating so much bread and stay warm through the winter. :)

Instead of buying clothes, make what you can with what you've got. Even if you mess up a few times and what was supposed to be for the bigger kid, ends up being for the little one:

Share whatever you can:

And one more suggestion:

DON'T sign up for something without realizing it will cost $159 just to sign up. ESPECIALLY if that's about how much money you have in your bank account. Ugh.

P.S. Thanks A MILLION TIMES to everyone who has helped with our "Let's buy Mary a camera" fund!!! We're about halfway there! We just need a little bit more and we'll be there! Spread the word!

I like the sprinkle idea, but I wonder if it would work on broccoli?
I am sorry about your $159, what did you sign up for? One time I got my car inspected too late and had to pay a $295 fine. YIKES!
