day two

I went to the dentist yesterday and had two cavities filled. The entire right side of my face was numb the whole time I was fixing dinner. I was a little nervous about what eating would be like. Thankfully, Zach ended up having to stay at work a little later in order to be ready for today (first day of school) so the numbness managed to wear off by the time we were ready to eat. That may be the only time I use the word "thankfully" to describe my feelings about Zach staying at work longer. And only because it meant day two of Mushroom Week could go on unhindered. Whew.

We had an old staple that we always look forward to. I sauteed up some garlic, red onion, green peppers and mushrooms in olive oil with a little salt and pepper and served it over rice with black beans, fresh tomatoes and avocado on the side.

Yum. Seriously, yum.

Once again, Max loved it.

And Quinn ate a burrito.

Did I already say Max loved it??

I don't know why I never got in the habit of putting bibs on my kids. I really should.
Max adores food. You can't get it into his mouth fast enough. And the whole time he eats he's saying "Mmmm. Mmmmmm." I could sit and watch him eat all day. In fact, I think I have more pictures of him eating than doing anything else.
That kid is good for my soul.

Haaaaa ha! Mushroom week. I love it. YOU are good for my soul. And that Max is his mother's son. He is just super excited about stuff like "mushroom week." And I just noticed your title on the next post, "FUNgus." Love it.

Hey Katie - love catching up with you this way! As for the bibs - yeah they're good for preventing stains but all summer I've just been ripping Jackson's shirts off before he eats. Less laundry, no stains and pretty "green"! Love ya!
