margie

Every Monday night our 88 year old neighbor Margie comes over for family home evening. We sing a song, Zach shares a few scriptures and we all discuss them and try to get Quinn to participate for as long as possible (usually about 3 1/2 minutes). It's good for all of us. Oh, and of course we end the evening with a delicious treat, usually prepared by Margie. And every time she leaves I kick myself that me and the boys don't go over and visit her more. Like, every day.
Why the heck not?
Tomorrow.
I promise.

So last week when she came she brought me an extra special treat. Margie has a huge collection of beautiful quilts that she's made throughout the years. And for some reason, even though I don't go over and visit as much as either of us would like me to, she thought I deserved one of her quilts. I'm still in shock. Not to mention the fact that it's one of the most beautiful quilts I've ever seen! I love it. I keep it on my big rocker in Max's room and wrap up in it every time I nurse him.

Love the puffy flower centers.

I don't know why I'm so lucky. I feel blessed.

That last picture is sweet. I'm happy she has neighbors like you guys. Our next door neighbor, "grandma Dot," keeps bringing us delicious homemade cinnamon rolls, despite the fact that we not only don't visit her, but it takes us like a month to return her pan every time. You have inspired me to be a better neighbor.

No, see, I'm not a good neighbor. I also keep her pans for weeks! And when I give them back I don't even put anything in them. LAME.

That quilt is AWESOME! I love the colors, the pattern, all of it! You may think that you don't do much for Margie, but I bet you make her day every Monday night. Those boys probably make her happy for a week.
