the best of 2009 - challenge #2

Challenge #2 - Best resturant moment.

I have two. The first one I blogged about here. It's the time we ate at a Carrabba's up north, just me and Zach, and both of us nearly cried over how good it was. Embarrassing, I know. But really, our lack of options in this town is more embarrassing. Really. As well as our lack of opportunities to eat out alone.

The second one was just a few months ago. We went out to dinner here in town and took the boys with us, AND their high chairs that strap on to chairs. They can't get out of them. We felt like geniuses. The boys sat in their seats, ate whatever we shoveled into their mouths, played with toys, colored pictures, and didn't make a peep. It was our best meal out with both boys in tow to date. We knew it was superb when an older couple who was leaving stopped at our table and told us what angelic little boys we had. Which is an improvement since it's usually older couples giving us dirty looks for bringing such rowdy children to a resturant. Like the following trip when Quinn knocked his refried beans onto the floor and then proceeded to drive his toy tractor through them. Yeah.

Notes for eating out:
Get a babysitter.
OR
Buy a mini DVD player and some headphones and let the boys zone out while we have a lovely meal and pretend it's just the two of us.
